National premiere at Galway Film Fleadh for our co-pro Jihad Jane

Very excited to say that my debut feature documentary ‘Jihad Jane’ will premiere next Saturday at the Galway Film Fleadh.

The film is something we have been working on for years and I am excited to finally screen it.

In March 2010, two American women, including one who named herself ‘Jihad Jane’, were arrested in a number of high-profile arrests in Waterford, Ireland, which were trumpeted by the US attorney’s office as ‘the new face of terrorism’.

Facing huge jail sentences, the two women pleaded guilty but now for the first time ever, with unprecedented access, ‘Jihad Jane’ tells the story of the most absurd terror cell ever to come together.

This documentary is the culmination of a long journey spanning many years and continents. Over the course of four years, we met with the the co-conspirators in the terror cell , their intended target and the FBI, all in an attempt to uncover what happened in Waterford.

It was a genuine privilege to work with the team behind the film. It was produced by Morgan Bushe with co-producers Anna Byvald and Jenny O’Brien.
It was edited by John Murphy. DOPs were Ross McDonnell and Kate Mac. Production Manager was Colum McKeown.
We worked with talented teams in Holland, Sweden, the US and Ireland.

Special thanks to my old friend, documentary maker and collaborator Martin Johnson who I began this journey with a long time ago and was brilliant to work with throughout the film.

If you are around Galway, please come as we would love to have you there. Pass on the word. Tickets can be bought here. https://www.galwayfilmfleadh.com/project/jihad-jane-2/
